CreativFestival Report
Kathy and I were pleased to see you at CreativFestival at the International Centre in Mississauga last week.
It’s a lot of work organizing and setting up for this event but it was well attended and we were pleased to meet with so many of you. Thanks for coming!
Special thanks go out to all of our models and helpers who came out on Thursday to help me with my trunk show on the main stage. We were all involved so there was no one left to take a picture! Thanks to Kathy Wodrich, Kelley Richardson, Cinthia McLean, Gail Bradshaw, Mary Lou Gatwood, Ruth Larusso and Julie Lee. With their help we had a very successful show!
We’ll be back at Creativ next fall. We hope you’ll join us, and until then we have plenty going on throughout the year online and at ABQ Sewing Studio. If you aren’t getting our email newsletter, be sure to join and keep up on our patterns, classes, and more!

Sew Powerful
The Sew Powerful Bag program is well underway, and as a drop off site for the event, I’ve received some lovely bags. Here’s one from Paulette Ethier. She dropped it off when she visited me at CreativFestival.
If you would like to participate in Sew Powerful, we are holding two half-day sessions at ABQ Sewing Studio. More information here.

Garment-making
Lots of things have been happening at the studio.
We are starting garment-making classes this month with the Klassic Kimono class coming up in November. Use our sergers to professionally finish your garment and learn a bit about sergers as a bonus. Great for yourself or a gift.
See all our upcoming classes and find out how to join.
Pillowcases
Lots of Burrito pillowcases were made when Catherine Gray led a fun, free Saturday morning class.
Quilting
The Beginning Quilting II Class continues as we work on our blocks for the Scrappy Sampler Quilt. Here are some highlights.
Aprons
The Pretty Party Apron Class was a huge hit. This class focuses on serger techniques. Class participants were encouraged to bring in their sergers or work with our models.
This class is to be held again soon. Teacher Kelley will take the mystery out of serging with you. Find out more here.
