Brenda started sewing early in her life, and before she found her own passion for bag and quilt design, she enjoyed making quilts from patterns other people had designed. She shares her love of sewing and quilting, along with other happenings, with you on her blog.
For a time ABQ was a home-based business, but soon the house was overflowing and it was time to move. That’s when ABQ Sewing Studio opened. Now we’re a fully-stocked fabric and quilt shop with an online store too.
Browse the shop and you’ll see a variety of finished products, along with patterns, including ABQ patterns designed by Brenda Miller. For years customers have been sending in pictures for our Show ‘n Tell contest. Those can be seen on the Show ‘n Tell page, or find the gallery at the bottom of each individual pattern page.
Whether you need help choosing a pattern or project, a sewing machine demonstration or tutorial, or assistance with fabric choice, we’re happy to help.
We think sewing and quilting are fun, and we go out of our way to make every experience at our shop a pleasure, whether you’re just visiting for a browse and a chat or joining us for a class.
Brenda Miller designs patterns that help you create beautiful, functional handbags, specialty bags, quilts, home decor, and more. These patterns are unique, well-illustrated, simple to follow, and fun to sew.
Also available are hardware kits customized for each bag and specially designed zippers. ABQ zippers have a special feature that makes them easier to sew into bags.
Along with creating patterns, Brenda teaches classes and holds trunk show presentations at shops and quilt guilds.
She teaches other sewing enthusiasts how to make bags, in person and with online video classes. Find her story here.
Along with Kelley Richardson, she teaches classes at ABQ Sewing Studio. In-person classes will resume when pandemic restrictions are lifted and it is safe to do so.
We serve businesses that purchase wholesale. If you are a representative of a sewing or quilting business, join our business newsletter to get information about new pattern releases and more. Contact us to order.
