Farmer’s market in Strathroy
There’s a Farmer’s Market day each sunny Saturday morning, May – October, in Strathroy’s downtown. On rainy days the market moves to the Middlesex Arena.
Sunny market days are very busy, so if you are coming to see us in the morning, I’d suggest you come early and enjoy the market for a bit before we open. We’ll likely have our doors open at about 9 am rather than 10 am those mornings so just walk in. The market starts at about 8 am and wraps up at noon.
Parking on Market Day
If you want to park our store, you will only be able to do so driving in from Caradoc Street. And even though there is a ‘Road Closed’ sign at Caradoc and Centre, as local traffic you can drive in and park, except for the Saturday of the antique car rally, June 10, 2022.
Enjoy the summer fun!
Heat, fun, music, sun, and food. The market has been a Strathroy tradition for a long, long time – practically since there have been people here.
The market takes place from 8:00 am to 12 noon every Saturday from May to October at the intersection of Front and Frank Streets. The roads are closed to all but foot and bike traffic for this family-friendly event.
And, since it takes place only steps from the ABQ Sewing Studio that gives you lots of time to grab a slow drip coffee and cinnamon bun before coming to one of our weekend classes! Check out our classes here.
Even our local restaurateurs stock up on the fresh produce and meats at this popular event. What you buy was likely picked early in the morning and is farm-to-table fresh. Plus you’re apt to meet a lot of your friends, share a coffee, find a good book, learn about a community event or buy a cute plant… The possibilities are endless.
Make it a getaway weekend!
Treat yourself and stay at the Clock Tower Inn and Bistro on Friday night. There’s a nice profile of the bistro here. It’s just around the block from ABQ Sewing Studio. A continental breakfast is included, and you’ll have time to take in the farmer’s market before class starts. It’s all within short walking distance.
You might also enjoy the boutique shops and restaurants nearby. Get together with a friend and book a getaway weekend!
