Heat, fun, music, sun, and food. What better way to roll out the red carpet for Canada’s 151 celebrations. All the action was in Strathroy this past Saturday at our downtown Farmer’s Market. The market has been a Strathroy tradition for a long, long time – practically since there have been people here.
The market takes place from 8:00 am to 12 noon every Saturday from May to October at the intersection of Front and Frank Streets. The roads are closed to all but foot and bike traffic for this family-friendly event.
And, since it takes place only a block from the ABQ Sewing Studio that would give you lots of time to grab a slow drip coffee and cinnamon bun before coming to one of our weekend classes! Check out our Voyager Bag Class and Girlfriends Bag Class coming up in August!
Even our local restaurateurs stock up on the fresh produce and meats at this popular event. What you buy was likely picked early in the morning and that it’s farm-to-table fresh. Plus you’re apt to meet a lot of your friends, share a coffee, find a good book, learn about a community event or buy a cute plant… The possibilities are endless.
Make it a getaway weekend!
Treat yourself and stay at the Clock Tower Inn and Bistro on Friday night. There’s a nice profile of the bistro here. It’s just around the block from ABQ Sewing Studio. A continental breakfast is included, and you’ll have time to take in the farmer’s market before class starts. It’s all within short walking distance.
You might also enjoy the boutique shops and restaurants nearby. Get together with a friend and book a getaway weekend when you join our late summer and fall classes! Download the Fall Classes Flyer.
