We like to have fun in our sewing classes

Fantastic Fall 2022 Classes

Once the goldenrod starts to yellow outside, I start thinking about fall and our sewing classes. We’ve been planning a great line-up so you’ll make us your go-to place for sewing, quilting and bag-making instruction.

Class fun with me, Brenda

It’s mid-August 2022, and tomorrow, I’ll be teaching the Voyager Bag Class and I can’t wait. It’s been pre-covid since I’ve had the chance to do this and I’ve certainly missed my students and seeing their amazement when they walk away with a finished project.

Finished Voyager Bags

After a successful Voyager Bag class in our old location (before the pandemic happened)

I’ve got two more bag classes planned for your enjoyment this fall. See the classes here.

The Essentials Tote

The Essentials Tote is a roomy bag that uses 12 fat quarters. Use up some of your own beautiful fat quarter collection to create a one-of-a-kind fall bag.

La Luna Bag

If you want to create a head-turner for your fall wardrobe join the La Luna class. This bag has a slightly curved look and has room for practically anything. It offers lots of separate storage areas to keep you organized. It’s also a breeze to make in class.

Kelley will be teaching a variety of classes

Kelley has some perennial favourite classes coming up. You can view Kelley’s classes here.

Join her for her Free Motion Quilting and Quilting with Rulers classes. Some new classes offer the opportunity to repurpose fabric, clothing and even old fur coats. Sew your own Memory Bear or Memory T-Shirt Quilt, both of which make a really thoughtful Christmas gift.

If you love all things traditional you’ll want to join Kelley to make the queen-sized O Mexico quilt. It’s a two-color beauty that’s bound to become a family heirloom. That’s the quilt in the picture at the top of this article.

Rings Revival Quilt

For lovers of modern quilting try her Rings Revival Quilt class; it’s a fresh take on the double wedding ring block.

Garment classes with Irene

Irene, our garment teacher, continues to wow her students and they are equally amazed by what they have made with her. View all Irene’s classes here.

If you are afraid of sewing knits be sure to check out her Perfect T-Shirt Class and the follow-up class called Variations on the Basic T-Shirt.

Cool Cardigan

Watch for Irene’s next class for the Cool Cardigan. A picture paints a thousand words and you can see that this student was thrilled with her results in Irene’s class last week. It’s a real wardrobe stretcher and so comfortable to wear.

Irene has also got some wonderful woven fabric classes like the Tamarack quilted jacket and the beginner-friendly Classic Kimono.

Or you might like to make the Fall Jacket or the comfortable Gallery Tunic, shown below.

In addition to this, there is a monthly open sew class where you can get her help with any garment or quilting project with Irene. Private lessons are an option with this amazing teacher if you book ahead.

And even more classes

Also new this fall are some quick Saturday classes designed to build your knowledge. Kelley will be having her Small Projects Day on the third Saturday of each month for a cost of $20. Demo Days are the second Saturday of each month for a mere $5 a session. Come on out and join everyone for a good time!

Follow the link for our full selection of classes to see them all!
