A Pop-Up Shop and Lecture In Lovely Lindsay, Ontario
“Bring lots of goodies for the ladies to buy” was in the email from the Borderline Crazy Quilter’s Guild where I presented my Developing the Designer in You trunk show last Wednesday to a group of very lively and talented quilters.
Whenever I come to a guild I bring my patterns, hardware kits, bag zippers, cork, fat quarters, notions and more. It’s not a pretty display because it’s thrown together quickly on site but there’s lots to chose from so you can make a gorgeous bag after being inspired by the trunk show.
It’s always nice to give away something and this time I had a zipper give-away. Anyone who entered my draw got one of my 14″ ABQ Bag Zippers. It’s a nice way to introduce the zippers to those not familiar with them. They have a double-jointed pull that opens from any angle.
My other trunk show is about quilting in China
I’ve visited a lot of guilds over the years with the ‘Developing the Designer In You’ presentation but did you know that I have a second presentation? In it, I talk about my time in China representing Canadian quilters and bag makers for Canada.
This exciting slide show presentation also includes my bags and quilts. Tell your guild programming committee about this second presentation if you’ve seen ‘Developing the Designer in You’. Your guild will find out the surprising things happening in quilting on the other side of the world. This page has information about all our classes and presentations.
Our treat meal on the way home
Grabbing a nice meal on the way home has always been a treat Kathy and I look forward to after a presentation. Along our route home we stopped in Mississauga at an Indian Restaurant called India’s Taste.
We both enjoy Indian cuisine and loved their buffet. The restaurant itself was quite sparkly, colorful and fun with the variety of lighting, and fountains – a nice pick-me-up on a gloomy rainy ride home.
