Sew your own PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to protect yourself, your family and friends, and your community from COVID-19.
Series of free tutorials to make PPE
I’ve been making a series of video tutorials that show home sewists how to make PPE such as face masks, scrub caps, and now visors. You can find tutorials for masks and scrub caps here. The scrub caps have buttons on the side where the mask attaches so your ears don’t get rubbed raw from the elastic on the mask.
Make a face shield
The clear visor on this shield is detachable. Clean with a bleach solution and dry with a paper towel. It also features a flexible foam brow which can be disinfected by a hot water wash.
The comfortable foam brow has a depth that allows for masks and glasses to be worn underneath, similar to face shields used in hospitals.
One size generally fits all adults. If necessary, adjust the elastic to make a different size.
Face shield kits with written instructions are available at our online store.
