Sew Professional Looking Bags
While sewing my new bag I decided to utilize the double straight stitch on my Baby Lock sewing machine to accentuate the edgestitching and topstitching I was going to be sewing.
If you’ve never used the double or triple straight stitch before it looks like this =======. And like the description says, it stitches over each stitch two or three times.
This gives the stitching a heavier look, rather like professional topstitching done by hand using a 40 weight thread. Basically, it looks really nice.
The only thing you have to be careful of is taking corners. Be sure to finish a complete stitch before you pivot. If you don’t, your first stitch after the pivot will be a backstitch. Give it a try. I think you’ll like the look it gives your bags!
