About Judith

Judith Elder-McCartneyJudith is a multi talented lady.  She’s a printmaker, a fine art and multi-media artist, and a teacher of art, quilting and doll making. She has a husband, four grown children and six grandchildren. She lives on a farm in Southwestern Ontario.

Judith enjoys the beauty of nature and the forests that are all around her home.  She appreciates the value of retaining them. She is also aware of how they are being abused by governments that allowing clear cutting of forests, factories that pollute air and water, and man’s destructive continuance of causing pollution and global warming.

Artist’s Statement

Judith feels we must all be aware of our role in destroying the earth and curtail our activities in polluting our air, water and soil.

If we continue on the path we are headed, polar ice will keep melting at an alarming rate, water and air will continue to be polluted and our forest will die, leaving a barren earth. We will no longer be able to enjoy the wonderful animals that run wild on our planet. Please be aware this is a very serious problem. Any changes must begin with you and me.

Global Warming – Save Our Planet

Judith’s artwork emphasizes the plight of the Polar Bears in the far north. Their lives are at risk with the melting of polar ice due to global warming.

Materials and Techniques

Judith created her artwork using Inktensive painting on the fabric.  She machine quilted her wall hanging highlighting certain areas.  Pencil shading and photo transfer techniques were also used.
