CreativFestival, Spring ? – 2018
Did you happen to visit CreativFestival in Toronto this past weekend before icy Armageddon descended? That’s where my sister-in-law Kathy and I spent the weekend in our ABQ booth at the International Center near Pearson Airport.
The spring show is a two-day show that started on Friday, a rather cool yet manageable spring day, and lasted until Saturday, when all weather “H” broke loose. But looking back what can you expect from a Friday the 13th weekend anyway? And naturally, I packed inappropriate footwear – it was supposed to be warm and wet.
Fresh for spring: Organizer Duo, Zip & Flip, and the Norfolk Bag
Everyone’s always looking for something new and fresh for spring, whether it’s clothes, a clean house, or a new sewing project. If you’re looking for a fresh sewing project, try one of these new patterns.
Make the Organizer Duo, which includes patterns for two organizers, one with insets; the Zip & Flip Shoulder Sling, which is great for use as a purse or for take-along craft projects; or the Norfolk Bag, a pretty handbag that’s perfect for the season.
This video, taken at CreativFestival, introduces the new lineup for Spring 2018:
Sorry about the glitch from 1:55 to 2:14. You’ll have to turn your head for a few seconds to view the video because I forgot to tell my filming assistant to keep the camera in the horizontal position! Whoops!
Zippers and patterns were flying off the display!
Saturday was a sales write-off with very few attendees, but we had a great Friday. I still can’t believe how many zippers and patterns we sold to you girls!
An icy ride home
The drive home on Sunday was quite treacherous but since we were behind a line of snowplows and beet juice sprayers, and couldn’t go over 30 km per hour anyway, we were pretty safe. Not so some poor motorists that must have ventured out on Saturday. There were plenty of accidents to see along the way.
Here’s hoping you stayed all snug and cozy under a quilt for those icy days and that your power is back up and running. Surely spring can’t be far off now…
