Folding fat quarters is just a small part of what’s been happening lately at the ABQ Sewing Studio. We have lots of sewing activities going on year-round, but here’s what we’ve been up to recently

Sewing Café takes
What could be nicer? We only have room for eight, so it is always a good idea to check in at least a day ahead to save your seat.

How to join us for Sewing Café
Next month we’ve changed our date for the Sewing Café from April 3rd to the 10th. If you find you’ll be free, call 519-914-0523 to book your space! Cost is $10.
Beginning Quilting Class
Beginning Quilting Class is into its third exciting week. So far, students have learned about fabric, thread, rotary cutting, rulers and more.
They’ve created two blocks styles: Nine Patch and the Monkey Wrench Block. Triangles and can be created in a number of ways and are kind of tricky, so that’s what we concentrated on in our last class.
A little help with sewing projects
Sometimes I’m asked to help out with a challenging project. I charge $10 per hour to get you through your problem spot.
Nancy had purchased some fabric years ago for a Buggy Barn Quilt and on Friday I got her started with her cutting. It’s going to be a cute dog themed quilt, but the cutting was pretty complicated.
Janet also popped in to work on pre-cutting for her upcoming Voyager Bag Class coming up on March 29th and 30th, 2019. There’s still space in this class if you’d like to make the bag with us in a class setting. If you sign up for the Voyager class and would like to cut your fabric in a supervised setting, there’s a special Tuesday cutting session at the studio for just that purpose.
