Quilts for the twin babies
Lots of different activities have been taking place in and around the ABQ Sewing Studio this past week. Inside, I’ve been hustling to finish off two baby quilts for the twins who are expected to arrive anytime.
I resized my Piccadilly Quilt pattern to suit the size of animal squares on a cute cotton panel I purchased a couple of years ago. Using the Baby Lock Destiny I free-motion quilted both over a couple of days.
Although I am not a very practiced free motion quilter I think the results were pretty good.
When I was young I had a recurring nightmare where I would not be ready for an upcoming event – usually a math test. I’d wake up with this very unsettled feeling like something was left undone. With all the work preparing the studio I am very relieved to have the baby quilts done and ready for delivery. No more worries about not being prepared!
Another zipper shipment on the way!
We’ve been working on getting more ABQ Bag Zippers into stock as well and are just about caught up with the cases that were part of the last shipment. Another is on its way soon so if you have been waiting for our black or dark navy 14″ zippers – they are coming!
Hometown Festival in Strathroy
Opening week ended off with a great display of classic cars parked just around the block from the ABQ Sewing Studio. Strathroy closes the downtown area for this event and the car show is just a part of their Hometown Festival that took place last weekend.
If you are a car lover, people watcher or music lover you’d enjoy this Friday night display of lovingly restored automobiles that happens every June.
I hope you enjoy a great summer solstice tomorrow!
