Ginormous, Super Large Tote Bag Pattern: My Monster Bag

Now that’s a bag!

My Monster Bag

It’s big, it’s beautiful and it’s just what you always wanted! Take this extra large tote bag to sewing class or quilt guild. Use it on shopping trips to carry purchases. Carry a knitting or sewing project with you. Whatever your hobby, there’s plenty of room to hold everything!

It’s been called “The Mother of all bags”, “humongous” and “so big it’s scary”. Yes My Monster Bag is big alright, and if it’s true that the gal carrying the largest bag is the winner then owning this bag means you’ve hit the jackpot.

When we say extra large tote bag, we mean it measures in at 23 inches wide by 19 inches high, not including the straps. This is not a bag for the faint at heart.

But despite the Monster Bag’s girth it’s stunningly beautiful both inside and out. It looks awesome made with one pack of forty 2 1/2 inch strips – and yes, in case you are wondering, it does use the WHOLE pack of strips!

Be sure to view the photo gallery further down to see what others have done with this pattern!

A comment from Gina at Sturbridge Quilting and Sewing Center in Fiskdale, Massachusetts

Hi, Here’s a cute picture of my grandson in My Monster Bag sample. When anyone sees the bag I always comment that you can fit a small human in it and this picture proves it.

Hi. Would it be possible to make this bag with 4/5 fabrics but without quilting design? Im not a quilter. I am probably able to handle a moderate pattern. Was thinking of making these for two of my daughters ABA teachers for all the toys they come and go with. Not sure how quickly it would work up?

No. It’s made using strips and not written for any other cutting. Best find another pattern.
