Art Quilt By Beth Cameron: Proof of Global Warming

About Beth

Beth Cameron is a resident of Manotick, just south of Ottawa, Ontario. She attended Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick, majoring in Home Economics. Once she started working full time she pursued a certificate in Visual Arts through Algonquin College, while enrolling in other art related courses. In the early 1990’s as a home sewer, she realized that she could combine her love of sewing and art in wall hangings. She’s never looked back since then!

Since 2000 Beth has worked in local quilt shops teaching classes and working as a sales associate. She refers to it all as her non-profit job. I guess her love of fabric cuts into her pay check! Beth has served on the board of directors of the Canadian Quilter’s Association from 2014 (2006 as the Membership Director) and writes for the Canadian Quilter’s magazine.  You can read more about Beth and see her work at Domestic Goddess.

Artist’s Statement

This quilt was inspired by a funny cartoon seen years ago.  This is the second version of this wall-hanging, the first was donated to charity to raise funds to buy underwear for the homeless.  It sold the first 5 minutes of the show!  I have a hard time parting with my creations and when I saw the theme for this show I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to recreate it.
